"Female stars call on BBC 'to sort gender pay gap now" - BBC.

Claudia Winkleman, Strictly Come Dancing co-host, is the top earning female in BBC since 2016-17. She has an estimated income of £450,000 - £499,999.

YET.

Yet... Chris Evans, Radio 2 DJ, is the top-paid male on BBC earning an estimated income between £2.2million - £2.25million.

Is this fair?

As a young female adult, I do believe that this pay gap is ridiculously astronomical. How are two employees working for the SAME broadcasting industry earning completely different wages? Also, how talented do you have to be to earn 2 million?

HOWEVER, I am also aware that on average Strictly come dancing has a viewership of 11.8 million  (Dec 2016) and airs annually from the end of September to December whilst Chris Evans presents his Breakfast Show on Radio 2 every morning, 6.30-9.30am with an estimation of 15 million listeners per week (March 2017).

Perhaps, this wage gap could simply be a matter of popularity, time and content
